My wife and I were discussing about the current cost-of-living-well in India for a family of four (2 adults + two kids) and she put an estimate of Rs 80,000-1,00,000 per month. We budgeted for

Rent
LPG
Electricity
Gasoline
Telephone (2 cell-phone +1 land line)
Internet
Cable TV
Car - monthly installment
Car Insurance
Maid service
Groceries
Milk
Misc. (movies, restaurants etc.)

I think we have accounted for all of the recurring monthly expenses. We need help from folks living in India - is this a reasonable estimate? Could you include an estimate for the above categories?

I would like to hear from folks who live in different parts of India if possible to get a better understanding of the variation in cost-of-living between cities.
