I don’t agree with an opinion that all the car mechanics in this world are of codding nature. There are good mechanics around, at least two or three. Unluckily, My mechanic is of former type. There is a sudden indistinguishable noise from the central part of my car that was running smoothly as usual. I took my car to the mechanic. He did a test drive and opinioned, suspension broken off.

Even though I am an engineer, my specialization is different. My knowledge about the root cause of this issue can be written in a space provided at the back of a bus ticket. For example, I have zero idea of where the suspension is located. With the intention of not desiring to reveal my ignorance to the mechanic, I confidently said, is it? Change it then.

Immediately he disappeared to the bottom of my car, spreading old cotton. He spoke from there; will you buy me the kit or should I buy it?

Where it can be bought? I queried

Must go to J.C Road, he revealed.

Okay. Then do one thing. Give me an estimate on the total repair charges, I ordered.

He clarified that it cannot be done without checking the parts completely.

Check it thoroughly, I confirmed.

While he was verifying, I came out of the garage. When I turned back, my car’s tires were removed and were held up by the jockey, oil was leaking and besides was loosing accessory parts of different shapes. My stomach captured fear about it. He may give the increased cost citing 50 for this part, 100 for that etc., what is going to happen, if there was some noise inside the car? I came out muttering, got caught in a futile disputation.

Garage was located at the corner of the road. That place almost bound with the central’s mill corner. It is morning 10am. Busy traffic. Innumerous cars passed with healthy suspensions. When I was coming back to the garage after having a coffee in a nearby hotel, I saw that accident. An old man drove his bi-cycle noisily, coming from central theatre side. A brownish red van came in the Main Road. This old man without thinking, seeing and stopping turned sharp and collided with the van. Van driver did not get enough time to hit the brake aptly.
BOOM! Noise produced and couldn’t find the old man thereafter. Liver orbited inside my stomach.

Crowd gathered in large numbers. I turned curious to know about the outcome. Despite feeling hesitant to go to the spot, I crawled there. Van was standing there, it had run over the old man and cycle was crashed into pieces.

Old man remained in a position, sleeping side ways. His head was injured and blood leaked from the front. His mouth remained open and body was shaking as if it was shivering. His soul was moving away from him quickly. As responsible citizens of Bangalore gathered around this old man, how we acted? I will explain.
