I grew up in a family of bankers, where balance sheets, APRs, stocks, bonds and such stuff were the most commonly discussed subjects between uncles and aunts during family gatherings and get togethers. I somehow was never too fascinated by this stuff. May be they were too complex for my grey cells to comprehend and I was just happy studying about the movement of electrons, organic chemistry, calculus and the likes :-)

Even until a couple of months ago, I never really thought being financially intelligent was all that important. But after I read the book, "Rich dad poor dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, my world of opinion totally changed. If you have not read this book yet, please please please, do it now. Although all the stories in the book may not be completely true, the book is very effective in illustrating the importance of financial intelligence.

Inspired by the book, I am now on the quest of financial knowledge. I have started reading a lot of books and articles, following numerous news sites and blogs to get my hands into this subject. And I thought why not share all that I am learning with fellow Zeolers and what better place to share than Zeole-New York.

So folks, I am going to be presenting to you Investment 101 - with snippets of information on finance, investment, stock markets and the likes. These zeoles are primarily intended for the financially-challenged people like me who would like to get some insights into the mysterious world of financial investment. Finance veterans out there, I would love to hear your opinions and comments, and please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken anywhere.

Stay tuned.
