Oh lord, the trouble I had with this banner yesterday. It started off as a fairly straight photograph with a blue sky. Someone, who's opinions I value, suggested I do it in black and white, but then I went to the extreme of 'soot and chalk'--the high-contrast example you see here. For most of the day an example treated with Photoshop's 'PlasticWrap' filter graced the banner position on AphotoAday. Sometimes I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Don't shoot the photographer...
