Q.1. How are career switchers perceived by the admissions committee, the faculty and prospective recruiters?

Most of my class is in the career switcher category. Faculty and recruiters understand this well and I do not think applicants are penalized at all for being a career switcher--very normal. As long as you can show that you clearly know how a Foster MBA will help you achieve your goals and aid you on the path toward a new career.

Q.2. What makes you "feel" for the school?

I love the Foster program! The small class size, the great professors, the high level of commitment and interest from the students and the abundance of great opportunities and contacts in Seattle make for a great combination. I was looking at several other schools and I am extremely happy with my choice at Foster. The new building is beautiful as well and it makes it a pleasure to spend a lot of time on campus in class and doing group work with classmates.

Q.3. What in your opinion is the best kept secret about Foster?

That's a tough one! I think the accessibility of the professors and career center is great and something I overlooked. Although you are competing for jobs/internships with lots of applicants on a national level, the small class size enables a lot of great opportunities with recruiters, alumni in the area, businesses and contacts.

Q.4 If there was one thing you could change about the school or wish the school could improve upon, what would it be and why?

I think that there could be better access to recruiters outside of the seattle area. Although the connections in the pacific northwest are great, there is limited connections with people outside of the region (and the bay area). If you are looking for jobs on the east coast, it could be more difficult and you will have to navigate this more independently.

Q.5. What are the different activities and clubs that I could partake in while at Foster? I am aware the of the clubs and the student organizations at Foster, anything apart from those?

In addition to the clubs and activities that are listed on the website, the most rewarding and exciting thing I have done has been participating in case competitions. I have competed in many and even made it to finals in numerous locations (even colorado!). It was a great way to bond with classmates, meet people from other schools and compete for great prizes! It also makes for a good story. Also, the Global Study Tours are great experiences.

Q.6. 3 adjectives that best describe Foster?

Passionate, committed, exciting.
