There are many strange and difficult aspects of Japanese language ( atleast to foreigners)
One among those is the letter 'r' and 'l' are pronounced same and alike ( there is no separate letter for these two)
This becomes difficult in reading and conveying english names
eg: Load and Road are pronounced and written alike.
The english word Pearl is written in Japanese with pronunciation 'Paaru'.
